How to Apply for a Fresh or Re-issue of Passport?

• Visit the website http://passportindia.gov.in and select the Passport Office
• Click on e-Form Submission or Online Form Submission under Fresh or Re-issue of Passport
• Citizen can download e-Form under Forms and Affidavit
• Fill the e-form and click on Validate and Save
• An XML file will be generated 
• Click on Register now under Apply and Login to the Page
• Upload the XML file by clicking on Upload e-Form
• Click on Pay and Schedule Appointment
• Make Payment through online using Debit or Credit Card or Internet Banking or Bank Chalan
• Schedule the Appointment and Print Application Receipt
• Visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the Scheduled Date and Time with Original Documents and One copy of documents. 
• Photo will be taken at the PSK (One Passport Size Photo with white back ground to be carried if the applicant is minor below 4 years of age)

Apply for Passport through Online Form Submission?

• Visit the website http://passportindia.gov.in
• Click on Register under Apply
• After Registration click on Login and Enter the details
• Click on Apply for Fresh Passport
• Fill the necessary details and Submit
• Click on Pay and Schedule Appointment
• Make Payment and Print Application Receipt
• Visit the PSK with Original Documents

Track Application Status

• Visit the website and click on Track Application Status
• Enter File Number and Date of Birth and click on Track
